Gyptian: MOBO Awards & Z100 Rotation




(NEW YORK) - VP Records recording artist Gyptian is seeing a stellar year with his breakout international hit, "Hold You" (Hold Yuh), the release of his third album in July, Hold You, and now the recognition is rolling in. Gyptian is nominated for the 2010 MOBO Award for 'Best Reggae Artist of the Year.' The contemporary reggae crooner also sees his hit single, "Hold You," spin into rotation on the world's largest Top 40 radio station, Z100 WHTZ, in New York.

The Music of Black Origin or MOBO Awards are held annually in the U.K. and is the first awards show in Europe to honor urban music. It attracts the largest primetime multicultural audience and reaches over 250 million people, worldwide. Gyptian shares the nomination with fellow VP Records artist, Gappy Ranks. The awards ceremony takes place on October 20 in Liverpool.

Gyptian also recently released his second single, "Nah Let Go," and its video is currently receiving steady airplay on MTVJams and MTVU, admist the ongoing momentum of "Hold You."

"Hold You" became an overnight hit this summer for the talented young star from Jamaica, and remains strong on major music charts, including Billboard's HOT 100, Top R&B/Hip-Hop Songs, Reggae Albums, Heatseekers and Canadian HOT 100 charts. Now with the single being added into rotation on Top 40 radio, Gyptian is truly a bonafide hit in the mainstream.
